The device has a partial transparent substrate comprising a functional surface (1) i.e. exit or incident surface, through which a laser beam passes through. The functional surface is designed such that the laser beam is divided into a set of sub-beams and transformed in such a manner that the individual sub beams have a top-hat-profile. The functional surface comprises a periodic structure for division of the beam into sub beams. The surface has a form for conversion of the laser beam of Gauss into the Top-hat profile.
