The manifold (1) has an inner shell (3) and an outer shell (2) between which an insulating material is provided. The insulating material is adapted to an inner circumferential surface of the outer shell and an outer circumferential surface of the inner shell. The inner shell is supported with respect to the outer shell over the insulating material. An isolation shell is formed in a projection area. A sliding fit is formed between the inner shell and the outer shell. A projection is formed at the isolation shell and rests against the circumferential surfaces. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an exhaust gas manifold.
