The method involves removing a flat blank from a magazine, where the flat blank is supplied to a winding mandrel (A). A cardboard flat cut is adhered at the mandrel and wrapped to a cylindrical container mantle with a round cross section around the mandrel. A longitudinal weld of the container mantle is sealed at a longitudinal sealing station (C). The sealed container mantle is transferred to a molding tool (B), in which the sealed container mantle is held. The container mantle is molded from outer side by closing the molding tool at a molded container mantle. An independent claim is also included for a container mantle for a packaging box.
