The device has a thermal energy storage for receiving fluid heat carrier medium i.e. water, and comprising a container with a container wall (1), where the wall comprises a thermally insulated inner lining. An inner casing (3) e.g. balloon, is made from flexible material, and encloses a retaining area (2) for the heat carrier medium. A thermally insulated intermediate layer (4) is arranged in an intermediate area between the wall and the inner casing. The inner lining lies at the wall even in unfilled condition of the container. A pressure measuring device is attached to the intermediate area.
