The lock structure has a pawl assembly (2) that is brought into a locking position, such that a lock latch (1) is maintained in closed position. An actuator assembly is provided for lifting the pawl assembly, such that the lock latch is separated from the pawl assembly. The braking effect of brake assembly (5) is carried out, by pivoting the lock latch in opening direction. The lock latch is engaged with the brake assembly, such that pivoting movement of the lock latch causes a change in the braking action of brake assembly. An independent claim is included for a motor car lock assembly.
