Method for randomly adjusting ignition frequency of internal combustion engine for reducing vibration during cylinder deactivation in engine of vehicle, involves rotating crankshaft at predetermined angle, and adding offset to current value
The method involves determining an ignition unit based on driver torque request. An offset is randomly generated. Time of a firing portion is added to a total current value. A crankshaft of an engine (102) is rotated at a predetermined angle. The offset is added to the current value. Ignition events are executed in a cylinder (118) of the engine when the current value is greater than or equal to a predetermined value that is subtracted by the current value after the events are executed. Ignition frequency of the engine is determined based on rotation of crankshaft between the events.
