The core-meltdown retention device has a receptacle wall (3a) that is installed between plate wall (9) and reactor pressure vessel cladding portion (1a) and extended from a cooling chamber (25) into an upper channel (16). Two integrated cooling channels (4) are arranged in the receptacle wall. The plate wall is provided with a supply channel (10) for supplying the coolant in the cooling chamber and into two cooling channels. The supply channel, cooling chamber and two cooling channels are provided for subsequent formation of a natural convection in the coolant.
