The component (1) has a continuous plastic filament arranged on a surface (9) of a sheet metal by an adhesive material i.e. bonding agent. Composite functional elements and stiffening structures i.e. reinforcement elements (8), are formed between the metal sheet and the continuous plastic filament. The functional elements and the stiffening structures are cohesively molded. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a component.
