The swash plate machine (1) has a pivot device (24) for pivoting a pivoting cradle (15), where piston bores (6) of a cylinder drum (5) are cut in a fictitious section (17) perpendicular to the axis of rotation (8) of a drive shaft (9). The drive shaft is cut from the fictitious section in first fictitious portion (27) and in second fictitious portion (28). An independent claim is included for a drive train for a motor vehicle.
