The fitting has a grope-actuatable control element (2) i.e. on/off valve, including an axially movable control rod. An axially movable push-button cap (13) is provided for operating the control rod. A covering (9) with an opening is provided for the push-button cap. The axially movable push-button cap is maintained on the covering such that the push-button cap is coupled with the control rod leaving a predetermined radial clearance. A spring element holds the push-button cap resiliently in axial abutment against the control rod.
