The electric appliance has a housing, a functional device (130) arranged in the housing. A marker (140) is attached at the functional device, such that the functional device is identified in an unique way. The housing is provided with a recess (116) which is arranged and designed such that the marker is viewable from the outside. The recess is formed in a side wall of the housing. The marker is received in the recess, so that a portion of the side wall of the assigned outer surface of the housing is formed by the marker. The recess is completely closed by the marker.
