The system has an active noise cancellation unit (SG) for determining an anti-signal (ab4) for noise reduction, and an output unit for outputting the determined anti-signal. A position detection unit (PDC1) is arranged in a headrest (KS) of a seat for detecting a position of a body part of an occupant of a vehicle. The active noise cancellation unit determines the anti-signal as a function of the position of the relevant body part such that the effect of the anti-signal for noise reduction in an area (Bb4) around the detected position of the relevant body part is nearly optimal.
