The switch has a housing (1) comprising a cable feedthrough (3), and a connection cable (2) comprising a cable plug (4). The cable plug is connected with the housing in a form-fit manner. The cable feedthrough forms a strain-relief sealing (5) and a fluid or gas-tight sealing (6) with the cable plug. The cable plug is molded at the connection cable and supported at the housing by a flanged rim i.e. dust seal. The fluid or gas-tight sealing has a sealing lamella that is made from elastomer and connected with material i.e. reinforced polyamide, of the cable plug in a firmly-bonded manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a proximity switch.
