The method involves twisting two halves of a divided transverse stabilizer opposite to each other, and providing an electronic control unit for an electrical servomotor arranged at a rear axle of a vehicle. The servomotor is controlled by the control unit during interruption such that the transverse stabilizer behaves like a non-divided passive transverse stabilizer when a base angle formed between the halves of the transverse stabilizer is held active. The base angle is determined by the control unit in an operating condition after the starting of the vehicle.
