It is a method for determining a magnetic resonance system-activation sequence (as). For this purpose, a first number of current field distribution maps (δb0, Δb1) for layers (sl, sl1, .., Sl8) the measuring range and it is acquired on the basis of a high frequency pulse train (mp) for the magnetic resonance system-activation sequence (as). This acquisition of the first number of current field distribution maps (δb0, Δb1) on the basis of a acquisition scheme can be carried out, according to the field distribution maps (δb0, Δb1) for a first number of field distribution representation layers (rs) to be determined which the field distribution maps (δb0, Δb1) a second number of layers with respect to a predetermined optimizing criterion, the number of field distribution representation layers (rs) is less than the number of layers (sl, sl1, .., Sl8). Likewise, on the basis of the acquired field distribution maps (δb0, Δb1) a reduced number of field distribution representation cards (δb0R, δb1R) to be determined which the first number of acquired field distribution maps (δb0, Δb1) according to a predetermined optimizing criterion, and the determination of the high frequency pulse train (mp) is carried out on the basis of these field distribution representation cards (δb0R, δb1R). In addition, a method for operating a magnetic systems (1), a field distribution cards-analysis device (30), a control sequence detection means (22) as well as a magnetic system (1) with such a control sequence detection means (22).
