The system has control unit configured to receive signals representing a strength of a wireless signal transmitted between the key fob and one of antennas located on a vehicle. The neural networks (30) are used for determining one of a vehicle internal position and a vehicle external position of the key fob based on the wireless signal strengths. The internal/external output neuron (38) is used for use in indicating one of the vehicle internal position and the vehicle external position of the key fob based on the wireless signal strengths. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) computer readable medium storing program for determining location of key fob for use in vehicle access system; and (2) method for determining location of key fob for use in vehicle access system.
