The device has an analog/digital (A/D) conversion processing unit (50) scanning an analog signal that is output by a sensor. An A/D conversion unit converts the analog signal into a digital signal with respect to a trigger signal. A decision unit determines whether another trigger signal is generated when the conversion is performed. A control unit i.e. computing portion (40), performs a control operation such that another digital signal is output with respect to the latter trigger signal after the former digital signal is output when the generation of the latter trigger signal is determined. The sensor is selected from a cylinder inner pressure sensor (20), a water temperature sensor (21), an acceleration sensor (22) and a crank angle sensor.
