The hydraulic actuating system has master cylinder (1) in which a piston (3) is located. The pressure medium-pressure chamber (6) is filled with printing medium upon actuation of master cylinder by piston rod (4). The pressure-medium line is provided through which the master cylinder is connected to a slave cylinder by coupling device such that pressure drops are generated in pressure limiting device (7). The pressure-limiting device is activated or deactivated and integrated in dependence on travel position (KH) of the piston.
