The system (100) has a set of openings (110) formed in one of two components (106, 114). Each opening comprises an opening wall (116), and the openings are in coordinated relationship to a geometric distribution of resilient convex walls (102) such that each convex wall is accommodated into the respective opening. An elastic deformation occurs at a contact surface between the convex wall and the opening wall if each convex wall is received into the opening. The deformations over the convex walls are averaged such that the component is precisely arranged relative to the other component. The walls comprise a convex wall surface and a non-convex wall surface. The deformation responds to the convex wall, which has maximum width that is larger than cross-section of the opening. The resilient convex walls comprise resilient arc shaped walls, half-tubular walls and resilient non-cylindrical walls.
