The method involves generating a diagnostic control signal by requesting a micro controller of the operational power system(OPG) module at a fail operational power system(FOS) module (100). The FOS module is configured to receive the diagnostic information by a component module of the OPG module on the basis of the diagnostic control signal generated by the microcontroller. An isolator diagnostics is executed at the FOS module based the received diagnostic information.
