The method involves determining multitude of ignition patterns of a motor if a cylinder of a motor is deactivated. Amplitude, frequency and/or phase of oscillation at a rider interface component are calculated based on result of multitude of the ignition patterns. The ignition patterns are executed if oscillation properties meet predetermined criteria. The ignition patterns are provided with sufficient number of ignition events to meet rider rotational torque request. Oscillation properties of a combined ignition pattern are determined.
