Use of a cosmetic composition comprising at least ethylene oxide/propylene oxide-block copolymer (I), for the inactivation and/or elimination of mites on the skin, is claimed. Use of a cosmetic composition comprising at least ethylene oxide/propylene oxide-block copolymer of formula (A-B1-A) (I), for the inactivation and/or elimination of mites on the skin, is claimed. A : polyethylene oxide block; and B1 : polypropylene oxide. An independent claim is included for cosmetic, non-therapeutic method for optical improvement and/or preservation of the appearance of human skin, comprising the cosmetic composition to inactivation and/or elimination of mites on the skin, and optionally rinsing with water after a contact time of 30 seconds to 24 hours.
