The exhaust gas purification system (2) has a filter (33) which is arranged in an exhaust channel of an internal combustion engine (1) in an area immediately below the engine, where a flow rate base material is arranged downstream or upstream of the filter. A selective catalyst is deposited on the filter and has a function for storing ammonia and for reducing the nitrogen oxide in the exhaust gas through the ammonia. Another selective catalyst is deposited on the flow rate base material and has a function for storing ammonia and for reducing nitrogen oxide in exhaust gas through the ammonia.
