The present invention relates to liquid crystal compounds according to formula i, comprising a cyclopentyl group and a difluoromethylenoxy-closing-group. Liquid crystal compounds according to formula i not only have a high dielectric anisotropy, but also a high clearing point and a high reaction time and are therefore of great importance for the formulation of liquid crystal compositions.
