The system has a shut-off plate (10) arranged under a cooktop, and a worktop arranged in a furniture body (22). A metal strut (12) is provided for attachment to opposite side walls (20) of the furniture body, for supporting an edge of the shut-off plate directed to the front of furniture i.e. kitchen cabinet. A retaining section (14) mounted to the metal strut includes a plug-in receptacle for receiving the edge of the shut-off plate, where a blind trim is attached to a front-side covering of the metal strut. An independent claim is also included for a furniture body for kitchen furniture.
