Glass ceramic in the form of lithium disilicate glass ceramic with the following composition: 55 to 70% by weight SiO2, 10 to 15% by weight Li2O, 0.1 to 5% by weight K2O 0.1 to 5% by weight Al2O3, 0 to 10 wt .-% of additives and 0 to 10 wt .-% of dyes, 10 to 20 wt .-% of a stabilizer selected from the group consisting of ZrO2, HfO2 or mixtures thereof to increase the chemical and mechanical stability, wherein the stabilizer is essentially in the amorphous phase.
