Detection and estimation of the qrs complex for the monitoring of cardiac and pulmonary activity

The method involves detecting (20) waves (Q, S), and filtering an initial ECG signal (6) using a positively polarized nonlinear derived function so as to obtain a positively polarized filtered signal. The ECG signal is filtered by using a negatively polarized nonlinear derived function so as to obtain a negatively polarized filtered signal. The positively polarized and negatively polarized filtered signals are used to detect the waves, where one of the waves is detected by searching another wave (R) in the ECG signal.
