The method involves selecting a constituent intermediate part (17) of pipes (12, 13) according to wheel bases of models (M, M') of a car. A front portion (16) of the intermediate part and a rear portion (18) of the intermediate part of the pipes are fixed on supporting elements (22) identically distributed under floors (24) of the models of the car, where the floors have constant lengths (L, L') for all models of the car, and the models have different wheel bases. An independent claim is also included for a car.
