The device has an ovoid-shaped enclosure molded and armed with a flexible screen for receiving shipwrecked man. The enclosure has a lower part i.e. cockpit arranged to provide a sitting position (5) for the shipwrecked man. The enclosure has an upper part comprising a movable dome fixed on a sliding central mast, where the dome is opened in ready-to-use mode and closed in operational mode. The enclosure is placed in a sheath docked to a ship and suspended perpendicularly to water surface. The cockpit includes a control (8) of a lever to ensure closing of the dome.
