Method for controlling multi-cylinder thermal engine in car, involves determining corrected richness from reference cylinder richness and number of effective cylinders, where corrected richness complies with exhaust richness
The method involves determining a reference cylinder richness to be applied to a total number of cylinders (3) of a multi-cylinder thermal engine (1) to meet a required exhaust richness (psiech). A number of effective cylinders taking part in a combustion process is determined. A corrected richness applied to the cylinders taking part in the combustion process is determined from the reference richness and the number of effective cylinders when the number of effective cylinders is lesser than the total number of cylinders, where the corrected richness complies with the exhaust richness. An independent claim is also included for a car.
