The unit has a controller (5) for controlling functions of cleaning of a cleaning device (3). A soil detector (7) detects presence of elements disturbing vision on a surface (S) of a windscreen (1). A collection unit (41) collects relative data for a driver. The controller is configured to process the relative data with the driver so as to adapt the instructions provided to the cleaning device when the soil detector detects the elements disturbing the vision on the surface of the windscreen. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a cleaning device (claimed) of a surface of windscreen of a car.
