The method involves detecting an alphanumeric character not supported with unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) protocol. A subsidiary message transmitted (150) by a computer server according to an auxiliary protocol e.g. MS protocol, distinct from the protocol is received by a mobile phone, where the message requests the user to return login information to data exchange session according to auxiliary protocol. Another subsidiary message is transmitted (160) to the server by the phone according to the auxiliary protocol, where the latter message contains login information of user. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program product comprising software instructions to implement steps of a method for login of user to a data exchange session by using a mobile phone (2) a computer server.
