Depigmenting cosmetic composition comprises a synergistic combination of a melanogenesis inhibitor of resorcinol, a stable antioxidant derived from oxidation of ascorbic acid and a rhubarb root extract acetylated, dissolved or dispersed in an excipient or inert, nontoxic carrier.
