The gauge (10) has a variable resistance cell (12) whose resistance varies according to a level of an exhaust gas liquid additive in a container. The gauge is mounted on a base plate (11) relative to the container such that the gauge extends inside the container. The cell comprises a resistive track and a cursor (14) that creates a local contact with the track to obtain the resistance, where a position of the cursor is varied relative to the track according to the level of additive in the container. A set of ferrous metal strips is arranged at a predetermined distance of the track. The resistive track is mounted on a ceramic substrate.
