The device (26) has a fixing unit fixed to a body of a vehicle. A retaining element of a strap is adapted to release the strap under an effort of deployment of an airbag. The fixing unit includes a grip (32) adapted to fit a junction rabbet (22) of sheets (10, 12) with the body. The retaining element includes a grip (30), where retention is ensured by clamping effort by the grip of the retaining element, and a ribbon forms the grips. The grip of the fixing unit includes a flexible strip adapted to cooperate with a face corresponding of the rabbet. An independent claim is also included for a car.
