The method involves storing a descriptive data (202) or file of a set of multimedia contents such as video, where the data is stored by a communication equipment (100) such as smart phone, in a local area network, and the data includes location information of the contents on a distant multimedia server (250). The multimedia server is provided outside of the local area network. The stored descriptive data is provided (204) by the communication equipment. The data contained in the distant multimedia server is recorded (200) by the communication equipment.
