The torch comprises an electrode holder (1), a nozzle holder (2), an electrical insulator block (3) arranged between the electrode holder and the nozzle holder, and a shank (4) forming a sleeve around a part or all of the electrode holder and the block. The nozzle holder and the shank comprise a connecting unit (5) for fastening the nozzle holder to the shank. The connecting unit fastens an upstream end of the nozzle holder to a downstream end of the shank. The shank comprises a peripheral housing in which an intermediate ring is inserted. The torch comprises an electrode holder (1), a nozzle holder (2), an electrical insulator block (3) arranged between the electrode holder and the nozzle holder, and a shank (4) forming a sleeve around a part or all of the electrode holder and the block. The nozzle holder and the shank comprise a connecting unit (5) for fastening the nozzle holder to the shank. The connecting unit fastens an upstream end of the nozzle holder to a downstream end of the shank. The torch further comprises a stop unit of the electrode holder against the electrical insulating block, a stop unit of the nozzle holder against the block, and a stop unit of the electrode holder against the shank. The insulating block comprises an upstream face, where the stop unit of the electrode against the insulating block comprises a first external shoulder arranged on the electrode holder at the upstream face of the insulating block so as to define a downstream face of the electrode holder in abutment against the upstream face of the electric block. The nozzle holder comprises an upstream face, where the stop unit of the nozzle holder comprises a second external shoulder arranged on the insulating block at the upstream surface of the nozzle holder so as to define a downstream face of the block abutting against the upstream surface of the nozzle holder. The stop unit of the electrode holder against the shaft comprises a second internal shoulder arranged inside the shank, and a third external shoulder provided on the electrode holder, at the second internal shoulder. The connecting unit comprises a first thread on a portion of an inner surface of the shank, and a second thread on a portion of an outer surface of the nozzle holder. The shank comprises a peripheral housing in which an intermediate ring is inserted, where the first thread is formed on a portion of the inner surface of the intermediate ring. Independent claims are included for: (1) a plasma arc torch; and (2) a method for cutting a metallic workpiece by a plasma arc torch.
