The radiator (30) has an envelope (31) that is made of thermal conducting material, where the envelope forms an internal cavity (32) containing a heat transfer liquid (28) e.g. water. An electric heating unit e.g. electric resistor (38) and radiating element, heats the envelope. The internal cavity of the envelope is located remotely from the electric heating unit. The resistor is embedded in the material of the envelope. The radiating element is placed opposite to the envelope or in contact with the envelope.
