The instrument (1) has an assembly (3) forming a grip clamp of a head (100) of humerus (101) and a body (6) to pivot on a positioning block (5). An immobilization unit formed of a screw (8) and transverse hole immobilizes the body relative to the block. Curved arms (9) pivot on the body. The block has a hole to position the assembly on positioning stem (2). Pivoting assembly of the body is performed according to an axis parallel to a bone cutting plane. Curve and dimensions of the arms are utilized such that the arms enclose the head. The arms have slots (21) to guide a bone cutting blade.
