The method involves managing communication of messages between a terminal (1) e.g. smart phone, and a remote service platform (3) based on a protocol such as DLNA, of a local area network (4) e.g. home network. A service session is established between the remote service platform and the terminal of the local area network. A description of the service platform is created from establishment of the service session. The description of the service platform is published in the local network. A checking is performed if communication enters the terminal and the service platform. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a gateway (2) a computer program comprising instructions for performing a method for accessing a remote service platform.
