The device (7) has an assembly (33) for moving a plug (25) and each of inkjet printheads (13, 13') one with respect to another. Another assembly (31) tightens a longitudinal portion (29) of a band (23) on a support surface of the plug during cleaning, and moves the band in the direction along length diretion. The support surface is locally convex toward a plate (19), on a level of a contact zone of the longitudinal portion, so that the portion includes two longitudinal sides located outside of the contact zone. An independent claim is also included for a method for realizing a cleaning of an inkjet printhead.
