The bar (1) has a plate (2) hooked to a material strip (3) i.e. ribbon, and a contour (8) positioned around a central zone (5) i.e. marking zone. The central zone and contour are partially separated by a slot (10) and connected by a connection zone (11) extending between ends of the slot. The connection zone possesses elasticity so as to raise the central zone with respect to the contour according to the connection zone for inserting the plate between the contour and the central zone, so that the material strip is clamped between the contour and the central zone. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a decorative packing bar.
