Obtaining microorganisms with cellulolytic activity, comprises feeding folivore monkey with a diet comprising a cellulose compound for at least 12 hours, preferably at least 96 hours, recovering a sample previously taken from microbial flora of the digestive tract of the monkey, and culturing the sample in a medium containing the cellulose compound for 12 hours, preferably at least 7 days.
