The system (1) has an evaluation device (2) evaluating the amount of carbon dioxide emitted during a targeted action coordinating successive or joint operations. A coupling device (4) couples an action or operation with a compensation action or operation for a defined amount of carbon dioxide. A comparison device (3) compares the evaluated amount of carbon dioxide emitted during two different targeted actions and/or during two different targeted operations. The coupling device includes a database (8) integrating a compensation action associated with a compensated amount of carbon dioxide. An independent claim is also included for an optimization method for reducing the amount of carbon dioxide emitted in the course of an activity.
