The device (100) has a body (4), and an electrode (10) including an end (12) at which a ball is to be maintained prior to welding. The electrode is mounted in a channel (8) of the body, so as to be movable between an extracted position for welding, and a retracted position for loading of the ball at the end of the electrode by a ball supply port (56) opening into the channel. The body is equipped with a ball tank (50) communicating with the ball supply port, where the electrode is carried by a piston (26) of a pneumatic jack (22). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an installation for welding balls (2) a method for welding of balls by using the installation.
