The device comprises a member (30) for locking jaws (4, 6) in an open configuration, where the locking member is: adapted to cooperate with a separate portion (20, 22) of the jaws by complementarity of shapes of each jaw so as to mechanically tilt the opposing jaws towards each other about an axis (Z-Z) of a hinge (2); and arranged outside a free space between the jaws. The locking member is adapted to cooperate with the parts of each of the jaws, which protrude from the rest of the jaw in a direction parallel to the axis of the hinge. The device comprises a member (30) for locking jaws (4, 6) in an open configuration, where the locking member is: adapted to cooperate with a separate portion (20, 22) of the jaws by complementarity of shapes of each jaw so as to mechanically tilt the opposing jaws towards each other about an axis (Z-Z) of a hinge (2); and arranged outside a free space between the jaws. The locking member is adapted to cooperate with the parts of each of the jaws, which protrude from the rest of the jaw in a direction parallel to the axis of the hinge. The locking member is adapted to cooperate with the portions of each of the jaws, which belongs to units such as bolts of a fixing equipment of the jaw, on arms of the jaw, and articulated by the hinge on the arm of the other jaw. The locking member is formed to bypass the area where the free space between the jaws leads to the outside according to the direction of the hinge axis of the hinge when the locking member cooperates with the respective separate parts of the jaws in the opened configuration. The locking member includes a lengthened body including: a current part whose longitudinal direction is approximately orthogonal with the direction of the hinge axis when the locking member cooperates with the respective separate parts of the jaws in the opened configuration; and two final sections. A complementary support unit includes a tube that is centered on an axis approximately orthogonal with the longitudinal direction of the current part, where an interior face of the tube is dimensioned in diameter to girdle a portion of the separate part of the jaw when the locking member cooperates with the respective separate parts of the jaws in open configuration. A portion of the tube of each complementary support unit is open in a direction opposed to the other complementary support unit. The current part admits a symmetry plane that is perpendicular to its longitudinal direction. The final sections are symmetrical to one another. The current part, the final sections and the complementary support units are rigidly connected to the other elements by a welding process.
