A flood barrier for preventing the ingress of external flood water into a property through a doorway 2 includes a board 6 retained within a preformed channel profile 16. A secondary board 6 may also be provided in a further channel profile 5. The void created between the first board and either the door or the secondary board is filled, at least partially, with a pressurised waterproof expandable adhesive foam 8, providing a robust and comprehensively waterproof barrier. Where a secondary board is provided, the expandable foam may be injected into multiple voids between first and second boards and the door. The barrier may also include a U-shaped frame 23.
