A linear Fresnel solar concentrator comprising a longitudinal receiver 110 defining a longitudinal receiver axis, at least one linear Fresnel heliostat comprising at least two mirrors 112 arranged side by side to direct incoming solar radiation towards said receiver, the heliostat has a mirror support structure having a longitudinal rotation axis 113 parallel to the receiver axis, the two longitudinal mirrors mounted either side of the longitudinal rotation axis. Each mirror has a curved transverse cross-section, a longitudinal mid-line of each mirror defines a mirror base plane and the mirror base plane is rotatable to be substantially orthogonal to an average direction of reflected rays from said mirrors reflected from incoming illumination in a plane orthogonal to said longitudinal rotation axis, in particular when viewed in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis. Preferably there are multiple heliostats arranged in parallel, the heliostats closest to the longitudinal receiver axis are positioned closer to the heliostats rotation axis.
