A modular kit comprises identical connectors 10, each having a face with a mushroom shaped projection 14, 16 and a keyhole shaped recess 18, such that two connectors reciprocally mate with each other by inserting the plug into the recess and rotating the connectors. The kit is for a den or play tent. The connectors also have an engagement portion which may take a number of forms: a rod, clamp, hook, spike, suction pad, a master module having several connectors thereon, and a ring having central flaps for gripping a sheet of material. The master module may be octahedral and preferably comprises a slot which can receive the recess of a second master module for complimentary engagement. The recess in the connector may take the form of a channel or groove and may be shaped into an arc to permit the twisting motion.
