PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for more easily solubilizing hydrophobic compounds such as phthalocyanine, porphyrin, metal complexes thereof, and the like.;SOLUTION: The water-solubilizing agent for hydrophobic compounds comprises at least one of a first amphiphilic molecule having a structure comprising specific rings A and B, and a second amphiphilic molecule having a structure comprising the specific rings A and B. The plurality of amphiphilic molecules assemble by hydrophobic interaction or π-π interaction between the respective rings B, and can form an aggregate having an internal space, and being hydrophobic inside and hydrophilic outside. In the internal space is accommodated at least one hydrophobic compound selected from the group consisting of phthalocyanine, porphyrin, and metal complexes thereof.
